University Matriculations in EtonHouse

Most graduates of our school were admitted to the world’s top universities, including New York University, Washington University,Peking University,Birmingham University, University of Queensland, Sungkyunkwan University, LaSalle. More than 60% students go to top 10 Universities in their countries. This is a result of the advantages of the IB curriculum. IB teaching and learning is rooted in global contexts, the curriculum system from PYP to DP continually focus on the learning process of learners and the ability to use knowledge to solve problems.

An example of this focus on global contexts and problem solving is the CAS programme. In the IB DP all students complete three core components that are Theory of Knowledge (TOK), the Extended Essay (EE), and Creativity, Activity, and Service (CAS). They also choose one course from each of the six subject groups: Language and Literature, Language Acquisition, Individuals and Society, Experimental Sciences, Mathematics, and Arts.

In the CAS programme students design projects, supervised by teachers, that get students out of the classroom and provide them with opportunities for experiential learning. Students are able to understand the world through their own life experiences, their own communities, and broader global concerns, and to develop their international mindset.

It can be seen that IB provides reliable, comparable data that can fully prove learning ability to various universities in addition to standardized scores. IB itself has requirements for extracurricular activities such as social services, which happen to meet the application requirements of many prestigious schools. Students participate in various social activities, there is space and good opportunities to develop their after-school hobbies, and cultivate students’ international mindedness and sense of social responsibility.
